In order to get the extension you need and still use weight distribution you would need to have a 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver on your truck. If you do not have one already I would need to know the year, make, and model of the truck to recommend one if available.
To be able to tow a trailer with 918 pounds tongue weight you would need to have a special TorkLift trailer hitch and then use a SuperTruss extension which will have up to 14,000 pounds capacity when using weight distribution. The capacity is dependent on the length of the extension needed.
So I will need to know the year, make, and model of the truck and also the total tongue weight of the set up. When calculating tongue weight of weight distribution you go by the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, then add to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. So at least part of the side by side in the truck bed will count in the tongue weight figure.
