Trailer Hitch and Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for 2014 Mazda 3 Sedan With LED Lights
Question:
2014 Mazda 3 Sedan - need hitch and platform bike rack for 2 road bikes. The Curt is the only hitch that works with LED lights. Would the Hidden Hitch work? Is this a wiring issue or a mounting issue? Also, what platform rack would you recommend?

The Curt Class I trailer hitch you referenced, part # C11377, will indeed fit your 2014 Mazda 3 Sedan with LED lighting. I confirmed this with my contact at Curt. So too will the Draw-Tite # 24912.
The Curt hitch does require use of their stabzilizing strap # 18050 with any bike rack in order to retain your hitch's warranty coverage. Two helpful articles on hitch installation are linked for you along with the written instructions.
The hitches offered for your Mazda 3 are all light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I types that have a maximum tongue weight (downward force) capacity of 200-lbs. This 200-lb limit must include the weight of your two bikes plus that of your choice of bike carrier.
Generally platform carriers weigh more than hanging-style racks but they also offer certain advantages such as not requiring you to lift the bikes as high for loading and better compatibility with alternative-design frames that can sometimes require use of an adapter bar like # 64005.
You will need to select a Class I-compatible platform carrier for use with your hitch. The link provided will take you to our main page for all such bike carriers. You can use the filters in the left margin to narrow the results to the brands and features you prefer.
