From what I could find, the various models of the 2001 GMC Jimmy have a towing capacity of 3900 to 5400 pounds depending on the trim level. Consult your vehicle owners manual to determine the official capacity of your specific model. You will likely not have to use 4-wheel drive but the towing section in the owners manual should be able to tell you the proper procedure.

Based on what I found on the curb weight of the heaviest 1993 Toyota Corolla it will weigh in at about 2500 pounds. You will likely be able to tow the Corolla with the Jimmy provided the combined weight of the trailer and the Corolla are under the capacities of the Jimmy.

If you need a hitch for the Jimmy I recommend Curt hitch # C13020. It is rated for 500 pounds tongue weight and 5000 pounds gross trailer weight. When used with weight distribution it is rated for 600 pounds tongue weight and 6000 pounds gross trailer weight.

To complete your towing set up I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It includes 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. To add trailer wiring use # C55411.
