Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2012 Mazda 5
Question:
Hi, This information was included in a previous response... For carrying a bike rack on your 2012 Mazda 5, I would recommend using the Hidden Hitch model, # 60291, if you think you might need to do some towing at some point, because it comes with the correct ball mount, pin and clip. You would need to add a properly sized hitch ball to match the trailer you would be towing though. ..... For a bike rack you will be limited to carrying 2 bikes in a Class I hitch because the distance that additional bikes extend out from the rear of the vehicle will create too much torque for the hitch or vehicle frame. Does that mean I couldnt use a multicarrier bike rack like this w/the Hidden Hitch 60291? TH9029 I have a 2012 Mazda 5 sport and am looking for a bike rack and compatible hitch that is easily removable when not in use and one that swings out of the way easily. Thank you.

All of the bike racks available for your 2012 Mazda 5 are Class I hitches which means they would be limited to only carrying 2 bikes.
The best recommendation I could give you would be to get the Hidden Hitch part # 60291 (no longer available) and then use the Swagman Semi 2.0 Bike Rack part # S64686 as it will tilt away to give you the best rear cargo access with bikes loaded we can offer. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.
