Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I have a 2001 grand cherokee laredo straight six 4x4. It did not have a hitch when I bout it so I wen to the junkyard and bought a oem hitch from another jeep the same year and installed it on my jeep. It came with the 7 pin reciever and a couple inches of wire. I know the is a plug and play harness under the rear drivers side panel. I want to hook those two so I can have a working 7 pin plug minus Electric brakes. All I can find are harness to hook up a flat four prong? What do I need? Thanks

7-Way trailer connector # HM42190 for a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee looks similar to a 4-Way but the end that plugs into the vehicle has 7 pins in it for the 7 functions on the connector. It is not a confirmed fit though unless the vehicle originally had a 7-Way connector from the factory. Even if the wiring is there it doesn't necessarily mean that it is active and functional.

The accepted method for adding a 7-Way to a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee that didn't come with one is to first install a 4-Way using # C55369 and then use # ETBC7. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you.
