Question:

I am building a utility trailer and looking for a complete axle, spring, hub, wheel, and tire supplier. The specs for these parts are flexible but need to accommodate the following: 73inch hub face and 58inch spring perch center mounts for a 60inch wide trailer frame The loaded capacity on the trailer will be no more than 1200#.

I think the easiest way to get the parts you need for your trailer is to buy an axle kit that comes with the idler hubs, bearings, races, seals, grease caps, wheel studs, and lug nuts. For the weight you are saying you will be carrying I recommend starting with the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs, part # 20545I-EZ-72-15.

This system has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern so the tire/wheel combo I recommend is the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with 14 inch White Wheel, part # AM32153. These tires have a ply rating of 6 and a 1,925 lb maximum load at 60 psi. It also has an 81 mph speed rating.

The spring kit I would recommend is part # e84SR. The bushings come pre-installed in the springs. The spring seat I recommend is part # TRSS175.

The hanger kit I recommend for this system is part # APS5. This kit includes 3-1/4 inch tall front hangers, 7/8 inch tall rear hangers, 3-1/8 inch shackle straps and hardware for mounting springs to your 2,000 lb to your single-axle trailer frame. I have attached a drawing that shows how the hanger kit would be installed. Looking at the drawing A is the distance between the hangers and that is 20 inches. B is the distance between the center of the axle and the trailer frame. That distance is 5-3/8 inches.

If you need a coupler for your new trailer I have attached some links to the couplers we offer you can check out.

I have also attached some helpful articles and links to the products for your trailer that you may be interested in taking a look at.
