If your 2011 Kia Sorento does not have the dual exhaust system with a tailpipe on both the driver and passenger side, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class ll Hitch, part # 36511. This hitch has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. I have attached an installation video for this hitch on a Sorento you can check out.
You may be interested in a Draw-Tite Ball Mount like part # 36051. This drawbar provides a 5/8 inch rise or a 1-1/4 inch drop and measures 7 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, and includes the pin and clip. For a 2 inch ball I recommend part # 19258, and if you want a 1-7/8 inch ball I recommend part # 19256.
We also offer another hitch that will work for your Sorento. It is the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C13073. This is a Class lll hitch and has a 2 inch receiver opening. I have also attached an installation video for this hitch. All non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps like part # 18050 . Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from CURT.
If you decide on the Curt hitch I recommend the ball mount kit, part # 989900. This features 2 ball mounts and also has both the 1-7/8 inch ball as well as a 2 inch ball, along with the pin and clip and a handy carrying bag.
If you are looking for an electrical trailer connector for your Sorento there are a few options depending on your vehicle and what you currently have. If you have no 4-way connector at the rear of your Sorento I recommend the CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C56328. This harness is a simple installation that lets you simply plug into your factory connectors and does not require cutting or splicing into the vehicle wiring.
When doing any electrical connections I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the connections and helps prevent corrosion.
I have also attached some helpful article for some of the products and for wiring you can check out.
