Recommended Hitch for 2001 Volvo V70 Station Wagon for Use with Yakima DoubleDown Ace 4-Bike Rack

I have a 2001 Volvo V70 Station Wagon. I also have a Yakima DoubleDown Ace 4 Bike rack. What would be the best trailer hitch to use? Thank you in advance,

Your 2001 Volvo V70 wagon can be equipped with any of three choices in a 1-1/4-inch Class II hitch. All hitch options can be seen on the link provided.
Since you will be using a large-capacity 4-bike rack with this hitch, the Yakima DoubleDown Ace 4 Bike Carrier # Y02451, I suggest the Curt hitch # C12318 since it offers the highest tongue weight capacity of all available choices: 350-lbs. This hitch bolts on with included hardware and requires no drilling or welding for installation. The instructions are linked, as is a video showing installation of another hitch on a Volvo vehicle.
You will need to use a Curt stabilizing strap # 18050 with this hitch and your rack in order to maintain your warranty coverage on your hitch. The Curt strap will help take some of the weight burden off the hitch and the attachment points on your V70 and will also help to minimize the random rack motion that will occur when you are driving.
