Recommended Keeper Pins for RAM 7000 and 5000 Series Jacks

Question:

My boyfriend does repairs, and I have written a couple of times before. When replacing the leg pin on the following RAM jacks, can you please advise whether a snapper pin or a keeper pin is used, and what the size and Ram/etrailer part number is for each? TJDP-7000-B and TJDP-7000S-B TJD-5000 and TJD-5000S TJD-7000 and TJD-7000S Thank you for your assistance. Kelly.

Hey Kelly, I went ahead and checked out all of those jacks and I believe I was able to find what you're looking for.

So, for # TJDP-7000-B, # TJD-7000, # TJD-7000S, and # TJDP-7000S-B, you can use the Replacement Footplate Keeper Pin for etrailer and Ram Square, Direct Weld Jacks # TJD-7000-PN; and for # TJD-5000 and # TJD-5000S you can use the Replacement Pull Pin for etrailer and Ram Pipe Mount Swivel Jacks # TJP-PN58.

Bryce, thank you for getting back to us so quickly. We have just a couple more questions regarding drop leg pins. When watching the TJD-5000 review (which we really appreciate) and looking at the pictures, this jack shows a snapper pin holding the drop leg in place. In the review for the TJD-5000-FT drop leg and listed in etrailer's data, the hole diameter is 5/8". Can you please advise the following: 1) What is the part number for the snapper pin that comes with the jack when purchasing the TJD-5000, and what is its diameter? We do not see a 5/8" snapper pin on etrailer's website, and in the TJD-5000 review, the snapper pin did not look to be loose. If the JFC-PN has 3/8" diameter, that is a 1/4" difference vs. the TJD-5000-FT hole diameter of 5/8". 2) If the snapper pin is not available that comes with the TJD-5000, and if you want to use a snapper pin, which snapper pin would be the best to use and not be loose? Thank you. Kelly S

@KellyS The snapper pin part number is actually not listed anywhere if you can believe that but I will say that the diameter for # TJD-5000 and # TJD-5000-FT is 5/8" which we've confirmed in the past by physically measuring it. As far as a 5/8" diameter snapper pin is concerned, I'm not seeing one listed unfortunately. I'd say if you really wanted to go this route your best bet would be to get in touch with RAM jacks and see if they can point you in the right direction.

Bryce, regarding your reply for the pin on the TJD-5000-FT drop leg, if both the TJD-5000-FT and TJD-7000-FT have 5/8" holes, could you use the TJD-7000-PN keeper pin on both drop legs? That's assuming that both drop legs have 5/8" holes. From your video review on the TJD-7000-PN, it looks like the pin diameter is 9/16". Can you please advise whether the TJD-7000-PN will work on both the TJD-5000-FT and TJD-7000-FT? Also, is the pin hole on the TJD-7000-FT also 5/8" in diameter? Thank you. Kelly S

@KellyS The # TJD-7000-PN could work with # TJD-5000 and # TJD-5000-FT because the pin diameter is 9/16" which would only be a sixteenth of an inch smaller than the 5/8" hole.
