Recommendation For Flat Towing A 2017 Jeep JK Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited

Can you recommend a aftermarket front bumper or should I buy a baseplate? Vehicle is a 2017 Jeep jk Rubicon unlimited. The problem with placing a baseplate is the skid plate overlaps preventing it to down.

I can only recommend using a Baseplate # 1444-3 on your 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. We do not carry any bumpers which are rated for flat towing and as I see manufacturers of those front bumpers typically change their minds on if their bumper is registered safe for flat towing it makes me hesitant to recommend one. I have included a installation video below which shows this being installed on a similar Wrangler with the Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676.

You may need a high-low adapter to keep the tow bar within 3" of level from your tow vehicle to the front of your Jeep. We have these in the following sizes.

4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-4
6" Rise/Drop # RM-048-6
8" Rise/Drop # RM-048-8
10-1/4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-10

The Roadmaster Accessory Kit # RM-9284-2 and Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 will provide you with the electrical components you will need. This way you can wire the tail lights to run off your tow vehicles trailer connector and a charge line to prevent a supplemental braking system from draining your battery.

The Demco Air Force One # DM26VR for air brakes and the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO # DM86VR for hydraulic brakes are our best braking systems. You will need to match the kit with the brakes on your tow vehicle.
