Troubleshooting Clunking Sound After Install of Roadmaster Sway Bar Motorhome

Question:

I replaced old sway bar and it works great but the reason I replaced sway bar was from the clunking sound on swaying rough turns. The new bar is much better but I still get a clunk when i hit hard rough turns. I have a 2013 newmar bay star sport 28 foot. New bar fit perfect. Is there a torque spec for these sway bars. I am pretty sure the bolts are tight. Could they be too tight or should I try tightening more

Roadmaster doesn't list torque specs for the sway bar part # RM-1139-148 that you referenced but I do believe your issue is due the way the hardware was torqued down. What most likely went wrong was that you didn't tighten the hardware with the weight of the RV fully on the suspension and instead it was jacked up in the air when the hardware was torqued.

So I would recommend loosening the hardware and then with the weight of the motorhome fully on the suspension try again and you should notice a difference.
