Troubleshooting A Furrion RV Fireplace That Isn't Maintaining Temperature Settings

Question:

This fireplace seems to work well, except the temperatures seem to be a little off. When set to 70F, it will shut off once the camper is 67F on the wall thermostat. The issue is it will not cut back on and let the camper cool down to 54F last night. When the unit is set to 75F, it keeps the camper at 72F-73F on the wall thermostat and maintains this temperature. Two questions: 1. Any reason why the fireplace doesn’t restart when set to 70F? 2. Is there any way to adjust or clean the sensors….and where are they? Thanks!

Expert Reply:

The sensor for the Furrion Electric RV Fireplace with Logs # F30SW15ABL is inside the unit and wouldn't be something that you could adjust or really clean, besides using a can of compressed air to blow any dust out of the unit. With your unit not maintaining the temperature when set to 70 degrees but maintaining heat when set to 75 degrees you likely have a malfunctioning sensor and would need to contact Furrion for a replacement.
