Recommended Base Plate Kit for a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek
Question:
I purchased a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek manual transmission and want to install a baseplate and all necessary new wiring, Currently, I have a Roadmaster Falcon 2 towing system with matching cross bar and connectorsinch for my 2014 Subaru Crosstrek XV manual transmission that I have towed behind my RV. Ive had the Falcon 2 since 2013 See pictures. I know I will need a new baseplate for the 2022 Crosstrek, but will the crossbar and connectorsinch on the RM-52927-5 still work or am I looking at a different set up? Also, I currently have a Roadmaster Invisibrake system in my current 2014 Crosstrek that I transferred from my 2009 Impreza and it continues to work fine. I hope I can transfer it once again to my new-to-me 2022 Crosstrek. What supporting wiring system will I need in the new Crosstrek and RV for the Invisibrake system. Thanks

Thanks for the pictures and all the information! Since you have the Falcon 2 Tow bar you can use the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit item # RM-52927-5 you were looking at and get rid of the crossbar. This kit is confirmed to fit your 2022 Subaru Crosstrek. The direct connect kits are easier to work with then the Cross-Bar style like item # RM-52927-4. Plus it is one less moving part.
The Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System item # RM-8700 will work great in your Crosstrek. You will be definitely be able to transfer it over. If you don't already have it you will need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit item # RM-88400. This is to prevent your Crosstrek's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
For a compatible wiring harness you will want the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267 or since you most likely already have the cable you will just need the following parts to connect to your Crosstrek's lights and control them:
