Hi I have a 2014 jeep Cherokee latitude fwd, my question is if I buy this hitch or the one you would recommend I will be able to tow a small car on a trailer with that hitch? Thanks

I checked online for the specifications for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4WD and according to my source the 2.4L 4-cylinder Latitude does not carry a tow rating from Jeep. You can check your owners manual or with your local dealership to verify, but unless either of those sources offers a confirmed tow rating for your Cherokee then I would not attempt to tow a trailer with this vehicle. None of the 2014 4-cylinder Cherokees that I researched shows a tow rating.

The hitch you referenced, the 2-inch Class III Curt # C13172, itself is rated for a gross trailer weight of 5000-lbs (and for 6000-lbs if used with weight distribution).

In cases where the different components in a system have varying weight ratings then the lowest-rated component determines the limit for the entire system and this limit should never be exceeded.
