Best Towing Setup for 2017 Jeep Cherokee Without Tow Package
Question:
I want to buy a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Limited 3.2 L engine. I want to tow with it, but my understanding is since it does not have the tow package, I can only tow up to 2,000 lbs. Is there an aftermarket tow package that I can have installed on it so I can tow the 4,500 lbs?

I do have products that can enhance the towing performance of your vehicle but none of them will be able to give you the towing capacity of models equipped with the factory tow package. For your 2017 Jeep Cherokee, I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13172, with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56208, and the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13503. These three components are usually the basis of the factory tow package.
The trailer hitch is a direct fit that installs using pre-drilled holes in the frame. The wiring harness is also a direct fit that will not require any splicing but the transmission cooler will take a bit more know how. I had attached an install video of both the wiring harness and trailer hitch for you. I recommend professional installation for the transmission cooler.
