I purchased a Curt 56170 for my 2012 Pilot and it works fine. I need to install a brake controller and 7 pin for a larger unit I am towing. Can I simply replaced the wiring under the vehicle and put a controller in?

To install a 7-way and brake controller in your 2012 Honda Pilot that has a 4-way currently you would need to go with the 7-way adapter part # ETBC7 and a brake controller like the P2 part # 90885. There isn't a custom fit 7-way kit that fits your Pilot like you mentioned.
