Will the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch # C15323 Fit a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Short Bed
Question:
Will it fit my 2008 silverado 1500 crew cab shot bed and does it have attachment to the bumper like the stock is configured? By the way, I have a 1 12 body lift and what will I do about the gap between the hitch receiver and the bumper if there are attachment points to the bumper from the hitch receiver?

Yes, according to Curt, the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch, # C15323, will fit your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab short bed. This hitch will not use the same bumper attachment as the factory hitch, so you will not need to worry about the height difference from the lift kit. I have attached the installation instructions for this hitch as well as an installation video on a 2008 Silverado for you to check out.
Keep in mind, this hitch will not increase the towing capacity of your truck. It is important to verify the maximum towing capacity of your truck before towing. The towing capacity will be different based on how the truck was originally equipped, but this information should be available in the owners manual. You can also contact a local GM dealer with your VIN and they can tell you the towing capacity as well.
Another way to determine your towing capacity is to find the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) of your truck and subtract the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) which is the weight of the truck plus the weight of all passengers and cargo. The difference will give you your maximum towing capacity.
