Recommendation for Charging the Breakaway Battery on a Trailer
Question:
Can I hook 12 volts to the battery to charge it for 20 min went it is in tow then trailer seats for a day the tow for 20 min in tow again then it seats for 5 days before it gets used again . the trailer gets moved on Sat. then on Sunday it moves church equipment only and it seats from first week in June and wont move until the 3 week of Aug. because we rent an elemerty school for church

Yes, you can hook 12 volts of power to the breakaway battery through a tow vehicle or a separate, fully charged battery. This will allow you to maintain the charge on the battery and should be sufficient when the trailer is used weekly. However it will not charge a dead or low battery.
For extended periods of non-use, I would recommend a 12 volt battery charger like the NOCO Genius # 329-GENIUS5. If AC power is available, this battery charger would allow you to not only charge the battery but would also maintain the charge during June to August when the trailer is not being used.
