Is There a Blank Cover Plate Which Can Mount Over Holes For A-Frame Trailer Jack Holes?

Question:

I am considering replacing the existing a-frame jack on our utility trailer with the etrailer 2000 lb topwind swivel jack, # TJBB-2001-B. This would provide additional ground clearance for the jack footplate when towing, as well as allowing our F-150 tow vehicles tail gate to be lowered when coupled to the trailer. This leads to a simple question. Removing the existing a-frame jack will leave a 2-1/4inch hole and three threaded bolt holes in the trailer coupler. Is there available a predrilled blanking plate that can be bolted on to cover the jack hole in the coupler? Thank you.

I have never seen a blank cover plate to cover the hole on your trailer A-frame, but you should be able to easily fabricate one out of a steel or aluminum sheet. As an alternative to the Snap Ring Swivel Jack # TJBB-2001-B you could also consider the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K. This jack mounts in the same space as your current A-frame jack and will allow you to lower it to one of 7-different heights to clear your tailgate.
