Replacement Suspension Parts for a 2016 Grand Design Imagine 2600RB
Question:
I have a 2016 Grand Design imagine 2600RB with just over 30,000 miles on it. I replaced the Westlake tires size 205/75R15 with Goodyear Endurance 225/75R15. That means the sidewall size increased by .5. Im sure all the original nylon bushings in the springs are most likely shot and maybe the springs too. So I will replace them with brass bushings and wet bolts, and new springs if necessary. I will also replace the original equalizer with new shock absorbing ones - I am leaning toward the road armor shock absorbing equalizer, but not committed. Axles are 3500#. The problem is, because I increased the tire size, sometimes the tires rub the top of the wheel well. Looking for suggestions on how to increase the distance between the wheel well and tire by .5. Attached are some pictures - Keep in mind that this trailer is almost loaded to travel. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you for all of the photos and information!
With the age and condition of your suspension system I do recommend replacing the leaf springs along with all of your other components, but in short you should be able to use a slightly taller equalizer to gain that little bit of height clearance you're looking for.
The Road Armor is a good upgrade but I don't think the 6" distance between the horizontal bolt holes is sufficient for your application so I recommend checking out the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC279688 instead, which use a similar type of rubber component, but the bolt horizontal bolt holes will match up better.
To replace the rest of your suspension parts you'll want to get measurements for your shackles and leaf springs, but I believe some of these parts should match:
- MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR46ZR (2-1/4" shackles)
- 23-1/8" Leaf Spring # e59SR
- 27" Leaf Spring # e97SR
You'll measure the shackles and leaf springs from center eye to center eye, and then be sure to lift your trailer by the frame with a jack to relieve pressure off of your leaf springs prior to measuring them. If you end up having different measurements please let me know and I'll be happy to further assist!
