How to Determine Correct Over the Hub Disc Brakes For Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a 2021 aluminum boat trailer with tandem torsion axles. Im looking for a suggestion for putting brakes on it. What do you suggest for a complete kit to put brakes on both axles. Im going to start pulling it with a Jeep that weighs about the same as the boat is why. Thanks.

There are a number of things you need to know to get the correct brakes, and I'm going to assume over the hub disc brakes for your tandem axle boat trailer, which you slip on over your idler hub. First is your wheel bolt pattern, and if you aren't sure what that is I've added a link below which shows you how to measure. You also need to know your axle capacity and need to have a brake mounting flange.
For example, if you had 3,500 lb axles, a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and 4-bolt brake flange you could use a pair of the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet and KodaGuard - 3,500 lbs # K2R35DKG.
Your actuator would also need to be a disc brake actuator like # DX56FR and you'd need a brake line kit such as the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Tandem Axle - 18' # 18TA-BLKIT.
You didn't mention what you have or don't have on the trailer or give any weights which is why I can't give you any specifics, but I've added links below to our entire selection of over the hub disc brakes, brake lines, and actuators.
