Brake Controller Not Working After Breakaway Cable Pulled
Question:
We installed the Hydrastar EOH Actuator 1000 psi for drum brakes. We installed the unit and bled the lines and worked great. So we pulled the break away cable and that worked instantly. Once we reinstalled the brake away unit and tried the brake system in the truck it doesnt work. What are we missing? What happened that this would occur?

It sounds like there is an issue with the wiring. Since both your brake controller and breakaway switch should be connected to the blue brake output wire on the trailer, there is likely some corrosion built up inside the trailer side or vehicle side 7-Way that is causing a short. It would only be an issue with the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator item # HBA-10 if the wiring was hooked up incorrectly or there was a split or fault.
I have linked a diagram so you can verify everything is hooked up correctly. You will want to check the blue brake controller wire and see if there is any corrosion on the 7-way connectors. Also recommend checking your grounds.
