Recommended Brake Controller and Plug In Adapter for a 2010 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
Is there a plug and play harness for the Redarc brake controller to a 2010 Toyota Tacoma with a factory tow package?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, there is. However, you will need two adapters to connect the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty item # RED24FR controller to your Tacoma without splicing wires. Redarc didn't make one for the 2010 Toyota's so you'll have to use Tekonsha's and an adapter. The first is the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers item # 3040-P this will plug directly into your Tacoma's wiring harness.
The second adapter you'll need is the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness item # 331-TPH-017. It will connect the Tekonsha adapter to the Red Arc Liberty Pro item # RED24FR.
This set up also works with the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite item # RED63RR which includes the item # 331-TPH-017 adapter.
The harness you need to install the Brake Controller Adapter item # 3040-P will be located underneath your dash, to left of the steering column, and taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
I attached a picture below that will show you were to find the connector. If you do not have this plug then you do not have the towing package and will need to use the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers item # RED69FR to complete the installation
