Recommended Curt HD Bumper Pull Hitch for a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Long Bed
Question:
Im looking at upgrading my factory trailer hitch mount on my 1996 dodge ram 2500 diesel. I looked up on your site and I want one of the curt HD hitches that has the high tow rating I believe it was 2400lb tongue weight. There is 3 options that all appear to be the same. What one would you best recommend?

It sounds like you have the 1996 Dodge Ram Pickup with an 8' bed and a standard or step bumper. With this being the case my recommendation is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15318 because of the design and how it installs.
The Curt hitch I recommended uses 4 bolts on either side and doesn't require drilling while the part # C15319 uses 3 bolts on either side and the part # C15300 requires drilling into the frame of your truck. More hardware and no drilling sounds like a win to me!
Check out the linked installation video of this hitch on a 19995 Dodge Ram to see what you'll be doing for the installation.
