Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 1998 Dodge Durango
Question:
I am thinking of purchasing part #118334 for my 1998 Dodge Durango. My truck did not come with a factory hitch, or wiring harness, but I have installed a factory hitch from a wrecked Durango of the same year. The Hitch came with the factory7/6-pin connector box attached to the hitch. Will any of your your connectors/adapter work with part # 118334 and plug directly into the back side of the factory pin connector, so that I may utilize the factory pin connector.

Expert Reply:
All of the wiring harnesses we carry for the 1998 Dodge Durango only add a 4-Way flat connector. We do not have a connector that will attach to the OEM 7-Way and connect to factory harness on the vehicle. Chances are since your Durango did not come with a factory 7-Way that it does not even have the wiring or other parts needed to make it fully functional.
To add a 7-Way you will first need to install a 4-Way flat using # 118334. Then you will need 4 and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. I have included some links that explain the ETBC7 installation for you.
