Should 2 Friction Sway Bars Be Used with Pro Series Weight Distribution on a 7K Trailer
Question:
I own a 2011 Chevy 1500 and pull a 2011 Jayco 25 bhs weighing around 7000lbs. I bought the pro series trunnion style weight distribution system and was not sure if I needed the dual sway control. I have the option to mount two with the system just not sure if I needed it. Never used sway control and not sure how level the truck/trailer need to be when hooked up and how tight of a turn can you make?

With the trailer at 7,000 pounds and roughly 25 feet long I do strongly recommend using sway control. You can use 2 of the Reese bars, # 83660. Two are recommended for trailers over 6,000 pounds.
Presumably the truck and trailer will be level if you have the weight distribution system installed and set up properly and have the correct rise or drop shank needed to tow the trailer level.
As far as turns go you can make the normal turns you would make any other time while driving forward. But when backing up you will want to disengage and disconnect the sway bars from the truck/trailer because they could get damaged otherwise. I have linked a video showing a typical installation for you.
