Trailer wiring harnesses like the Curt # C55381 that have a T-connector allow for quick plug-in installation at the rear of the vehicle. This harness connects to wiring located under the vehicle, behind the bumper on the drivers side. The harness will have a connector similar to that on the Curt harness.
Locate the 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper; please refer to the photo provided. You can loosen the mounting bracket to give you better access to the connector. Press the red locking tabs to separate the connector from the wiring. The T-connector from the Curt harness connects between the vehicle wiring and 7-way connector. Be sure the connectors are fully joined.
We recommend an application of dielectric grease on the connections; this is available locally at any auto parts store or from us, part # 11755. This grease will help prevent moisture and dirt from contaminating the connections. You might refer to the linked video.
The written instructions for the harness are provided for reference.
