I don't recommend using the Curt Universal Fifth Wheel Base Rails with Installation Kit part # C16200 on a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 - 6-1/2 Foot Bed because it requires drilling into the frame although it will still fit. Instead, I recommend the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC part # C16411-204 which does not require drilling into the frame. These will both work great with a hitch like the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # 16516. If you don't already have an in-bed harness, I recommend Pollak 5th Wheel / Gooseneck T-Connector with 7-Pole part # PK11893-11932.
