Tail/Marker LED Indicator on Curt Trailer Connector Adapter Stays On All the Time

2006 Dodge Durango SXT Yes, my tail / marker l.e.d indicator light came on , will not go out, Ive had the plug installed for over 2 years now, it never stayed on when I installed it, would appreciate the help, pulled the fuse just to be safe

Since it takes very little power to run an LED light, if there is any draw on the circuit at all it can light up an LED dimly. Whether it is dim or bright one cause of this is a short drawing power even though the vehicle may be turned off.

You will want to inspect both the vehicle and trailer side connectors. Clean out any dirt or corrosion on the pins or where the wires attach inside the connectors. This is the likely cause of the problem.

Check the wiring on the vehicle leading to the connector. Any frayed wires touching metal can cause unwanted power draw.

If it is happening when the trailer is connected also, inspect the wiring on the trailer. You are looking for any frayed wires touching bare metal. This can cause a short and draw power when it should not be.
