What Is The Weight Towing Capacity For The Curt Trailer Hitch # C15810
Question:
What is the carrying weight for this hitch? My current hitch says 6000lbs and I’m looking for a hitch with at least 7500lbs. I tried renting a mini excavator and they said I needed a hitch with at least 7500lbs of carrying weight. I included a picture of my current hitch specs.

The Curt Trailer Hitch # C15810 is confirmed to fit your 2006 Ford F-250 and has a maximum gross trailer weight up to 20,000 pounds and has a maximum tongue weight up to 2,700 pounds. You're only as strong as your weakest component so even the hitch is rated up to 20,000 pounds double check your vehicle's manual to find the proper towing capacity of your vehicle. The trailer hitch has a 2-1/2 inch by 2-1/2 inch opening. You will also need the Curt Forged Ball Mount # C43JR. To deter you will also need the etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98881 which will keep the ball mount locked and secured to your trailer hitch.
I linked an installation video below of the Curt Trailer Hitch being installed onto a 2007 Ford F-250. The installation process will be the same for your 2006 Ford F-250. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I would be more than happy to assist you.
