Running Light Circuit on Output Side of Curt Wiring Harness Has No Power on 2000 Toyota Tundra
Question:
MY STOP LIGHTS AND SIGNAL LIGHTS WORK ON MY TRAILER. THE RUNNING, TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. I HAVE CHECKED ALL CONNECTIONS, FUSES and FOUND NO POWER ON THE BROWN WIRE OUT OF MY CURT CONVERTOR. WILL THE CONVERTOR GO BAD OR IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO CHECK?

Use your tester to test the brown wire going into the converter for wiring harness # C55367. If there is no power going into the box then there is an issue on the vehicle wiring. There could be a blown fuse for the trailer running lights. Use the vehicle owners manual to find if there is a fuse for that function and its location.
If there is no fuse for that function or if there is power going into the converter but not coming out then that indicates a problem inside the converter and the harness will need to be replaced. Another harness that fits your 2000 Toyota Tundra is # 118367. I have included a link to an FAQ article with other ways to test a 4-Way trailer connector.
