Recommended Flat Towing Set Up for a 2023 Jeep Wrangler w/ LOD Bumper

Question:

I have a 2023 wrangler JL 392 and need to flat tow behind our 2022 Holiday Rambler Armada. The armada has the freight liner Brakesync air system with a port to connect to the towed baking system. I will be using a LOD signature bumper as the baseplate for the tow vehicle. Could you give me a list of products I need to make this work. I am looking for wiring, tow bar and a air braking system. Thanks so much.

Congrats on the new Jeep! It looks like the LOD signature bumper comes with the Blue Ox Off-Road Bumper Adapters item # BX88358 that fit the 1" D-rings so you will want to get a Blue Ox tow bar. I have linked a picture of the adapter below so you can confirm you have one. If not this is the one you will need to purchase, item # BX88358.

For a compatible tow bar I recommend the Blue Ox Ascent Non-Binding Tow Bar item # BX4370. This tow bar features non-binding latches and a swivel function that makes it easy to connect or disconnect from your base plates on flat or uneven terrain. It has a 7,500 lbs capacity which will be perfect for your Jeep. This tow bar also includes the required safety chains.

To control your Jeep's lights you will want the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267. This diode kit allows you to use your Jeep's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV. This kit will come with a 6-way socket for your Jeep as well as an adapter cable to go from the vehicle to the motorhome.

If your Jeep has ParkSense Proximity Sensors then you will need the Roadmaster Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights item # RM47ZR and the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit item # RM-146-7 instead.

To connect to your 2022 Holiday Rambler Armada's Brakesync system you will want the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System item # DM23MV. This system is designed specifically to work with Freightliner chassis motorhomes that come with BrakeSync air brakes.

Additionally the tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.
