There is no difference between the two. We have two similar but different part numbers because we market the # BWGNRK1108 as a gooseneck hitch and the # BWGNRK1108-5W as the mount for the # BWRVK3400 sliding version of the B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch for short bed trucks or # BWRVK3500 for long bed trucks.

Both The BWGNRK1108 and The BWRVK3500 are needed and confirmed to fit your 2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty. The Companion hitch is a good choice because of its immense jaws, cushioned bushings, and pivoting head, all of which combine to give you the most comfortable towing experience possible. I also recommend installing The Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # DM8555002. Using this harness will simplify the hookup of your 5th-wheel or gooseneck trailer. The harness will plug into the existing wiring and will retain the use of the factory 7-pole at the bumper.

I attached an installation video link of the # BWGNRK1108-5W being installed onto a 2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty. The installation process will be the same for your 2005 Ford. If you have any further questions please reach back out to me and I will be more than happy to further assist you in your towing endeavors.
