Recommended Hitch for a 2023 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
the add says it is not confirmed that this fits the 2023 model. is that because its new enough that they have not tried it yet? also does this price include the trailer wiring adapter?

I have a comparable hitch that is confirmed to fit your 2023 Subaru Outback Wagon but the item # e78AR fits BMW X3 and X4's.
For your 2023 Outback Wagon you will want the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e25TR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts directly to your Subaru with included hardware. I like these style of hitches because they install behind the rear bumper and the only portion visible is the 2" x 2" receiver.
The hitches do not include the wiring adapter. For your Subaru you will want the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness item # 118467. I have confirmed with Tekonsha that this harness does fit the 2023 Outback.
To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
