Replacement Hubs And Electric Brakes For Dexter axle 8-133

Question:

I read your suggestions for new hubs and brakes assemblies for the Dexter 8-133 axle but dont understand how to mount. My Dexter 8-133 axle does not have a mounting flange - looks to me like the brake back plate is welded to the axle OD. Cutting this off and welding something off is significant work. Any suggestions on how to resolve?

When it comes to installing new brakes onto your Dexter 8-133 axle you will have to cut off the welded flange/brake unless the flange has a bolt pattern of 5 on 3-7/8 inches. The Brake Mounting Flange # 4-44-1 will get welded to the spindle at the end of the axle to provide a secure mounting place for The Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-105-106.

The brakes have a 12 inch diameter and are 2 inches wide. They have an axle rating of 6,000 pounds and will fit 14-1/2 inch, 15 inch, or 16 inch wheels. The Mounting Bolts # BRKH12 are sold separately if needed.

Per Dexter the Dexter 8-133 axle has an Inner Bearing # 25580 and an Outer Bearing # 15123 so you will need The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-9UC3-EZ.

This hub and drum will fit 5,200 pound and 6,000 pound E-Z lube trailer axles. It has a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern and has a sturdy iron construction. The Bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts are included.

I attached a few review video links below.
