I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado LT 2500HD 4WD Crew Cab with a standard bed. Just bought a 2017 Cougar25BHS. I only have 4.5 inches of clearance between 5th wheel and pickup bed. I can raise my hitch one more inch, but then the the camper would be between 2 and 3 inches above level. My current tires are 225/75R 15D. Is it possible to change my tires to increase the height of my camper? I’m not able to measure clearance around the current tires. I’m curious to know if this is a possibility.

In my experience you will need to add a lift like the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit # RR23QX before you are able to install any larger wheels and tires. This lift kit will allow you to gain 1-1/4 or 2-1/4" of rise on your trailer. You will then be able to install larger wheels and tires like the Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Tire w 16" Viking Aluminum Wheel # A16RTK6FPS. These are 2.5" taller(1-1/4" lift) taller than the ST225/75R15 that came on your 2017 Keystone Cougar 25BHS.

Since your axles are rated for 6,000 lbs. you will want to use 6,000 lb. leaf springs. We have a few options for 6,000 lbs., the correct one will depend on the length of your current springs (measured eye to eye). I have included those options…
