Troubleshooting Installation of Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness on Lexus NX
Question:
Recently installed a Tekonsha 118868 in my Lexus NX. It is not working. I verified proper positive and negative battery connection but other than ground there is nothing making its way to the connector. With all the lights on, brakes, tail and 4 ways there is no power at any of the connector terminals. I am a pretty handy guy and then had this wiring assessment verified by my landlord who was a mechanic in the Marine Corp for 20 years. Please advise.

From what you have said, it sounds like you connected your wiring to the positive and negative battery connection. When installing the # TK73VR, the ring terminal should be connected to the positive battery cable. Nothing should be connected to the negative.
Prior to attaching the black wire to the positive side you will disconnect the negative battery cable. The negative battery cable will be reconnected once you're done with the wiring, along with the installation of the 15 amp fuse.
If everything is installed properly as described, I would double check all of the connections and make sure they are secure. For the T-connectors, you can unplug them and plug them back in to ensure they are properly seated.
You can also test the wiring running into the converter box with a circuit tester like the # PTW2993. Although unlikely with a new wiring harness, if everything running into the box checks out it may be the converter box itself and you will need to replace it.
