Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove the threshold plate, privacy screen, floor covers, and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness. This is going to provide a four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to help power your trailer's signal lights. This is a custom fit kit. It is going to work for your 2022 and newer Lexus NX series, including the 250, the 350 and the 450 H.
So if you have any of those models of Lexus, this is gonna be the kit that you need. And the reason that it is a custom fit is to ensure that it is going to be very easy to get installed. We've got these plug and play adapters and that will plug right in. So rather than having to splice or tap into your vehicles wiring, this is gonna make it a very easy installation. Now, this system will provide that connector for you at the rear of your vehicle, so that you can hook up your trailer and transfer your light signals from your vehicle back to your trailer's lights.
So other motorists can see if you're stopping or turning that sort of thing. This is gonna be compatible with five pole, six pole, and seven pole adapters. So, if your trailer has different wiring than the four way flat here, we do have adapters available for you so that you can adapt to that. And you can see it does come with this dust cap to help keep the connectors clear and free of debris and that sort of thing. So, as I was saying, this is gonna be very, it's much more simple to install than a universal kit.
It is gonna be a little bit more in depth than some people might be comfortable with, but I can assure you, it is a very straightforward installation. They do give you very clear instructions on how to get everything installed. So if you are at all mechanically inclined, I think this is gonna be doable for you. Something that you can do yourself, you don't need to pay someone else to do it for you. They do include this ModuLite taillight converter.
That's gonna ensure that your vehicles wiring matches your trailer's. This is a powered module, so it is going to connect to your battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. So they give you plenty of wire here. This is probably gonna be the most difficult part of the whole installation. You'll have to run this wiring up to your vehicle's battery. They do include some zip ties here for you to make sure that it's gonna be up out of the way. It's not gonna fall down and drag on the ground, but you do wanna be mindful when you're running this up to your battery, that you're staying away from anything that's gonna be hot or moving that could potentially damage the wire. Once you get up to your battery, you will cut your fuse here. They give you a couple butt connectors so that you can attach one end to the wire that runs back to your system. The other end, you'll attach to the ring terminal, put that on your battery post. You also have the fuse included back here. It's a very simple, straightforward process. So your yellow wire is going to be on your driver's side. They give you some double-sided tape so that you can mount your ModuLite controller, or system here back behind your trim panel area. So that's gonna be probably the most intimidating part for most people is getting back behind your trim in your cargo area. Your rear portion of your vehicle can be kind of intimidating the first time but it is a, a pretty simple process. Just pulling those that do pop right out and put 'em back in. So once you get access to your vehicle's taillights you'll have a system that looks very similar to this. You'll have very similar adapters that are already plugged into each other. So all you have to do is disconnect those and then put this in line that will then re-complete that circuit so that your vehicles taillights and turn signals will operate properly. Even if you're not connected to the trailer, everything's gonna work just like it did from the factory. But then it's also going to send that signal down to your trailer so that your trailer's lights will operate the same as your vehicle's lights. So like I said, the yellow portion is gonna be on your driver's side. Your green portion will be going over to your passenger side. Same process over there, disconnect your plugs that look like this, plug these in, in their place. That's gonna re-complete that circuit. So you're gonna have a white wire. That's gonna be your ground. It's already got the ring terminal put in place there. And they do include a self-tapping screw. So you can get that put onto a frame or some metal surface to ground that. And then you've got your black wire here that you'll connect to the wire running up to your battery. So everything's gonna flow properly. Like I said, it's all spelled out very clearly in the instructions here. So walk you through that whole process in much more detail than I just did. But this system is going to provide five amps per circuit for your stop and turn lights and 7.5 amps per circuit for your taillights. So it is gonna do a good job of making sure that your trailers lights are signaling just like your vehicle. So if you do have something big in your trailer that's obstructing your vehicle's taillights, other motorists will still be able to see your trailer's lights operating properly. So this is gonna be exactly what you need. If you are wanting to add a four way flat trailer connector onto your Lexus. That completes our work for today. Again I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system. The plugs fit into a 2022 Lexus 350, but the wires are not wired correctly onto the plugs. The colored wires did not line up with any pin, they were blank. The connectors need to be rotated 180 degrees to work. Hard to explain but here are pictures of them after I spliced them. The right side has the brake light and the left side has the tail light wires.
