We have a online diagram that will help you understand how the break away system is wired into your trailer. It is actually a simple installation.

The system splices into the existing trailer wiring. The break away box will have 3 wires coming out of it, a black, a white, and a blue wire. The Black wire would tap into the 12 Volt accessory lead from the trailer connector, the white wire would tap into the white ground wire from the trailer connector, and the blue wire from the break away box would connect to one leg of the break away switch, and the other leg of the break away switch would splice into the brake output circuit on the trailer.

The auxillary battery on your trailer should be grounded to the trailer frame from the negative battery post, then a 10 gauge wire should be ran from the 12 volt accessory lead, black, in the trailer connector, to maintain the charge in the battery when the trailer is connected to a running vehicle. This is the same wire that the breakaway system is tapped into, to maintain the breakaway battery.

The power wires from the trailer brake magnets should be attached to the brake controller output terminal, blue, in the trailer connector. The remaining brake magnet wires should be grounded to the trailer frame.
