Expert Reply:
The highest capacity bias ply tire we carry in size 205/75-14 is # AM1ST86 that you have referenced. This tire has a 6 ply rating and can handle 1,760 pounds at 50 psi. We do have a radial tire in the correct size that is rated for 2,200 pounds at 75 psi and it has an 8-ply equivalent rating. It is # AM10235. Radial tires run cooler and track better than bias play tires.
If you are having problems with tires blowing out that is usually related to the tires being under inflated.
Trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall than passenger vehicle tires. The thicker sidewall means that when the tire is under inflated, it generates excessive heat and could easily fail. Going to a higher capacity tire is not going to help if the tires remain under inflated. Also going to a higher capacity tire will not allow the trailer to carry more weight. The capacity is set by the axle and other components on the trailer.
