Is a Base Plate Kit Available Without the Removable Arms for a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
Question:
I have the tow bar and the male parts. like # C000313 and # C000314 from a Roadmaster honda CRV. I would think they will fit int he femail part that mounts on the vehicle. can I just purchase the parts that mount on the vehicle.

All of the base plate kits we sell come with the removable arms. Base plate kits are made with a specific set of removable arms at the factory, so no set of arms is completely identical. The frame bracket mounts of the base plate kits are not available separately from the removable arms.
With that being said, the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, # 1012-1, is compatible with your 2001 Chevrolet Tracker and it will come with a set of removable arms that were designed to fit that kit. Keep in mind, this kit will not work on models with brush guards. At this time there are no base plate options for models with brush guards.
In addition to the base plate kit, I recommend picking up a set of safety cables, like part # RM-643, if you do not already have them.
A few other items that you may need if you do not already have them are a tow light kit and a supplemental braking system. If you will not be towing frequently and want something that is easy to install and remove, I recommend looking at a magnetic light kit like the Optronics Magnetic Tow Lights, # TLL21RK, and a portable braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot, # BRK2016. Most states require a supplemental braking system when flat towing a vehicle.
If you will be towing frequently and would like items with a permanent installation, I recommend the Tow Ready Diode Kit, part # TR118821, and the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Braking System, # RM-8700. These items only require a one time installation and keep your vehicle ready to tow at any time. The installation can be pretty involved, so I recommend having it done by a professional if you are not experienced in this area.
