Can Bearings and Brakes From 3,500 lb Axle be Used for New 3,500 lb Axle

Question:

Hi there, I have a enclosed trailer with 3500lb 4" drop axles and Id like to get some more height out of the trailer and replace axles with straight axles. Will I be able to move my brakes, hubs etc from one to the other?

You should be able to remove your hubs and brakes from your current 3,500 lb axles and put them on a new one since they all use the L68149 inner and L44649 outer bearings. You can double check those bearings numbers and that your brakes mount using a 4-bolt pattern to make sure it will be compatible.

For a replacement axle we have traditional axles like the Dexter Axle # T3584F-EZ-8974 which has 89" hub-face and 74" spring-center measurements or you can go a different route with the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR3500S05.

You'll need to make sure your hub-face and spring-center measurements match to use the Dexter Axle but for the Timbren kit it comes with a rubber spring suspension that replaces your current leaf springs so it gives you more control and a better ride quality for your trailer.

Attached are installation videos of each for you to check out.
