Will Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness # 118540 Put a Drain on Battery If Installed
Question:
My Ford dealer here in Inverness, FL. says your trailer wiring kit 118540, is causing a draw on my electrical system. Have you heard of this happening? They say I should have one with an Inverter! Their words not mine Would Curts C56093 be better for my Explorer? No factory tow kit on car.

With just the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118540 installed not connected to a trailer there would not way it would just put an amperage draw on the electrical system. Current has to go somewhere to draw from the battery so it just being installed without powering lights it can't drain the battery.
