Recommended Dual Hitch Adapter & Ebike Rack For Flat Towing

Question:

Do they make a dual hitch adapter with an offset one being longer than the other? I tow a honda fit behind my motorhome and would like to take our ebikes also just concerned about clearance when doing this also can you suggest an economical bike rack? mine is 62 lbs hers is about 10 lbs lighter

There are dual hitch adapters you can use when flat towing so you can carry your ebikes, but none have an offset. The correct adapter is going to depend on the rise or drop you need:

- 2-1/4" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2
- 2" or 6" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6
- 2" or 8" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8
- 2" or 10" Drop/Rise: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-10

As for a bike rack for your ebikes, there is an option that will work, but in all honesty there isn't an "economical" bike rack (though I do suppose that's relative). The most economical option that is rated for use behind a motorhome and has the needed capacity for your bikes is from Swagman:

- Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # S94FR

The E-Spec # S94FR has a 70 lb per-bike capacity and fits tires up to 3" wide, though it will work with tires up to 5" wide with the Fat Tire Adapter Kit # S64679.

In regards to clearance, the E-Spec will extend out a total of 27 inches from the center of the adapter's hitch pin hole, which should be enough for clearance from your Honda Fit.
