Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2016 Northwood Arctic Fox Travel Trailer
Question:
I am looking for a platform type hitch mount bike rack for my travel trailer that will hold my two beach cruiser bikes that weigh 45lbs. each. I was looking at the Yakima holdup but it is not listed as recommended for travel trailers. Why is that? Do you have a recommendation?

Travel trailers have more movement at the back when compared to a passenger vehicle so the forces at play will be stronger. Some bike racks aren't strong enough for this extra force which is why you'll only see a portion of bike racks rated for travel trailer use.
The Yakima HoldUp # Y02443 is a great bike rack but it hasn't been approved for use at the back of a travel trailer so as an alternative I recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR which has similar features but better specs than the HoldUp. The Transfer V2 has also been approved for travel trailers as long as the hitch receiver is installed directly to the chassis of the trailer - and according to my research that's what you have on your 2016 Northwood Arctic Fox Travel Trailer.
One last thing to note is beach cruisers tend to have front fenders which will interfere with the hook mechanism used to secure the bikes. If your bikes have front fenders then you need the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR instead as it uses hooks to secure bikes by their frame instead of front wheel.
