Does Curt or Draw-Tite Hitch Have Better Ground Clearance for 2020 Kia Soul
Question:
You say the best Curt hitch fits closer to the bumper and therefore has the most ground clearance. How can that be if I have to trim an inch off my bumper to install the drawtite but not the Curt? Also, I noticed on the Curt hitch it requires stabilizing straps with a bike rack but the drawtite doesn’t require them. Is that true?

The Curt # C67FR does have better ground clearance than the Draw-Tite # DT25GR for your 2020 Kia Soul. The reason you have to make a cutout for the Draw-Tite and not the Curt is because Draw-Tite decided to add a plate between the crossbeam and the receiver whereas the Curt has the standard downtube (see attached).
The Curt instructions do call out using the Support Strap # 18050 for all non-trailer loads but this is something they are in the process of eliminating from their instructions. The strap does help to keep loads more stable though.
I'd go with the Draw-Tite simply because it has the larger 2" receiver so it'll be compatible with more accessories.
