Recommended Weight Distribution System for Palomino Solaire 185X

Question:

I’m looking for a recommendation on a weight distribution hitch with sway control for my camper. It’s a Palomino Solaire with a manufacturer GVWR 5630 lbs and hitch weight of 444 lbs. I’m looking at the Reese 49912 and wondering if this hitch will suit my needs. Thanks for any help.

Thank you for providing that information. It sounds like you have a 2020 Palomino Solaire 185X based on the GVWR and dry tongue weight of 444 lbs. The dry weight of this trailer is 4,134 lbs. Based on that information you're looking at approximately 600-800 lbs of tongue weight when fully loaded.

When choosing a WDH tongue weight is the most important factor. You want your tongue weight to fall somewhere in the middle of the range of the system. Since the tongue weight range of the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE94FR is 400-800 lbs it should be perfect for your trailer. Unloaded or fully loaded you will be within this range which is ideal. This hitch will keep you level and help reduce sway using friction with the sway control brackets.
