Suspension Enhancement for a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Cab and Chassis
Question:
The top overload springs set less than 1/2inch from the bump stops and make a loud slapping noise when I hit a sharp bump what would be my best option to cushion the ride

The SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs, # SSR-301-40-2, that you have referenced is my top choice. These springs will replace the factory jounce bumpers. They are larger and will work much better than the factory jounce bumper.
However, there is a chance that this will not solve the problem. I recommend inspecting the suspension on your truck to determine if something is broken and causing the sound. You cannot install suspension enhancement unless the vehicle suspension is in good working order.
