Parts Needed To Add 7-Way Wiring Harness to 2017 Toyota RAV4
Question:
I have a 17 Rav4 Limited. I am buying a 1350 lb tear camper. So far so good. The tear is wired with 7-pin that provides: lights, turn signals, and charge for the on-board 12V system when car is running. No brakes on trailer. Normally a 4-pin would provide the lights/turn signal that the trailer needs. But that doesnt give me the trickle charge for the trailers batteries. Does this make sense? Is there a 7-pin harness for this vehicle that will work? Thanks

We do have a 7-way you can add that will do exactly what you need on your 2017 Toyota RAV4. If you don't already have a 4-way you will need to add that first. You can use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118578. Like you said, this is what you would normally use to power your trailer's signal lights.
Once this is installed you can add the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires # ETBC7L. This is designed for a brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180 so it does not include the output wire for the brake controller. Since you don't need that wire without brakes on your trailer this is the perfect solution. This kit will give you the 12V power and 7-way connection you need to tow your trailer.
I have attached some installation videos for your reference.
