Troubleshooting Curt TriFlex Brake Controller on a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 With OL Code
Question:
Hello, I am trying to install a triflex brake controller from Curt on a 2017 HD2500. I have the 51451 harness plugged in under dash. Upon plugging in blank screen. When I press brake unit lights up to CC or CL then soon after OL. This occurs with trailer connect or without. I replaced fuses and cleaned connector on rear of vehicle. Does anyone have any idea if I am supposed to have the dot or dots upon plugging into harness?

The Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV does have a sleep mode that will not have any lights on when the controller is not being used.
It sounds like you have a short somewhere in the brake wire that runs to the 7-way since your controller is trying to calibrate when there is not a trailer connected. That also explains why you are getting the OL afterwards. The short could be inside one of the connectors or the wiring may have chaffed somewhere on its way from the controller to the 7-way. You can use a Multimeter # PT89ZR to check for continuity between the brake wire and other circuits of the 7-way to narrow down where the wiring short is.
